Eyez明瞳

Bio

Eyez明瞳 was born on Haikou, a tropical island in China, and grew up moving across diverse cultural landscapes, from Ürümqi in the Uyghur Autonomous Region to Shanghai, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and now Montreal. These transitions profoundly shape their artistic practice, which builds immersive, non-linear experiences at the intersection of XR film, interactive art, and indie games.

Eyez’s work envisions cybernetic futures inspired by Asian social landscapes, focusing on the evolving crises of individual identity in an era where the boundaries between machine and human intelligence, and between reality and virtuality, are increasingly blurred. As a freeform artist, they craft alternative realities in the digital universe, delving into themes of post-individual identity and hyperrealistic existence through interactive, real-time mediums such as VR and AR.

Coming from a traditional painting background, Eyez retains a fluid visual sensibility while integrating logical processes through modern tools like game engines, coding, and 3D modeling. This hybrid approach allows them to freely conceptualize and realize expansive digital worlds.

In the alternate realities Eyez creates, audience agency is paramount. These experiences eschew forced narratives or predetermined camera motions in favor of unique graphic aesthetics and tailored interaction design. Each audience member’s actions and perspectives become the medium through which stories naturally emerge, offering deeply personal and resonant engagements.

Eyez's body of work aims to challenge perceptions and provoke introspection by inviting participants into speculative futures that reflect their own realities. By merging technology with artistic expression, Eyez continues to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling, crafting spaces where art, identity, and interaction seamlessly converge.
